Canadian Sales Director

 Location: Home office based near near Calgary Alberta.



Our client, Agrinos, is an Ag biotech company that is established in 14 countries around the world.  They are coming to Canada for the first time with three proven biological products.  They have a decade’s worth of third-party field trial data, a track record of improving farmers’ yields and a business offering that Ag retailers are eager to embrace. You can be their first Canadian employee and lead the development of their Western Canadian business.  This is a very exciting career opportunity in the fast-growing Ag biologicals market.

As the Canadian Sales Director, you will have a blank slate and the autonomy to run this business as if it is your own.  Given the virtually limitless opportunities, your first challenge will be to figure out how to spend your time as you strike a balance between progressive & nimble independent Ag retailers, and large national companies. In addition to selling to Ag retails, you will spend time educating growers and generating demand at the farm gate level.  Finally, Agrinos recognizes how important objective third-party field trial data is, so you will work closely with their corporate agronomist to help coordinate Canadian field trials and capture Canadian data.

To be considered, you must have solid agronomic knowledge and at least 3 (preferable more) years of experience selling to Canadian Ag retails.  You must have a proven track record of building strong relationships with both Ag retailers and growers. We need a strong communicator, listener and trust builder.  Finally, you need experience assessing market penetration opportunities, setting priorities, and building comprehensive business plans. An established network in the Western Canadian Ag retail community is a definite asset.
